Big Cedar Lodge is one of our family’s very favorite vacation destinations. Located in the Ozark Mountains at Table Rock Lake, it is known as “America’s Premier Wilderness Resort.” The resort is spread out over 4,600 acres and touts itself as “rustic luxury.” The mega resort has added modern conveniences and manmade paths throughout the natural beauty of its surroundings.
Whether you drive or walk (based on the location of your room), you can experience great amenities included with your stay. This includes 2 outdoor pools, many hot tubs, 1 indoor pool, 1 lazy river, miniature golf, kayaks, canoes, and pedal boats. The resort also hosts outdoor movie nights, firepits, bingo, and scavenger hunts. Devil's Pool is the main pool right next to Devil's Pool Restaurant. The lazy river and waterslide are near Wilderness Club.
Cabins / Lodges
Each lodge has separate pros/cons. The Springview Lodge is closer to amenities and offers a good layout for families with the 1 bedroom + King bed option. The Falls View Lodge has a huge bathroom area and a balcony/patio for each room. They all have a rustic cabin feel and hunting lodge theme.
Table Rock Lake / Bent Hook Marina
We rented a boat and tube from Bent Hook Marina for an afternoon on the lake.
With more than 800 miles of shoreline and 43,000 acres of surface area, there's plenty to do at the lake! The on-site marina is exclusive for guests of Big Cedar Lodge. You can rent boats, tubes, fishing equipment, and more. It also houses kayaks, pedal boats, and canoes. When the water level is low, there is a small sandy area where you can swim in the lake easily.
This 50,000-sq.-ft. entertainment center has an arcade, bumper cars, bowling, laser tag, ropes course, go karts, and more. The ropes course is outdoors and legit.
The resort is spread out, so you will certainly need a car to drive from one place to another. Depending upon which lodge you stay at, you may be able to walk to some amenities. The Spring View Lodge is adjacent to the main pool and restaurant and within walking distance to main lawn, ice cream, and mini golf holes. There is a courtesy shuttle that travels around providing lifts as well.
- Osage Restaurant
This is located at Top of the Rock (a short drive from Big Cedar main area). It’s the nicest dining option on site and is known for upscale regional cuisine. You have a sweeping view of the Ozark Mountains that is well worth the visit.
- Devil’s Pool
This is a casual dining experience and the main restaurant. It is next to Devil’s Pool and Springview Lodge. It combines the best of homestyle cooking with rustic décor, metal chandeliers, antique furnishings, and a 100-year-old mahogany bar.
Top of the Rock
This is a spectacular view! Top of the Rock is the highest elevation in the county and offers views of the Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake. There’s a restaurant here which requires reservations in advance as well as an amazing tour listed below.
Lost Canyon Cave & Nature Trail
This is an exceptional trail at Top of the Rock where you get to drive a golf cart! What more could you want?! It’s 2.5 miles of paved trail on a golf cart that features waterfalls, rock formations, views of the lake, and a cave.
Big Cedar Lodge boasts 5 golf courses created by some of the top names in golf: Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Gary Player, Tom Fazio, Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw.
